Social Media Acceptance

So when did social media become a popularity contest? When did having followers become the "it" thing to do?

We are in an era now where having followers and likes is what counts and matters. Where social media used to be about connecting with friends and family has now become a popularity contest. Have you ever felt slighted or rejected because you don't get as many likes or comments as some of your friends or relatives? Feeling jealous of a certain blogger or vlogger because they are doing the EXACT same thing, yet with little or no effort? So what do you do? How do you handle this?

YOU GET OVER IT!

Since when do you n need the validation of the world? Why are you so worried about what someone on social media thinks? We have literally allowed social media to take over our daily lives. So how many times do you wake up and check Facebook? Instagram? Twitter? How many hours a day do you waste on it?  Even employers have been sucked into the madness as well. If they don't like what you say or do online, you're gone.

So now I want you to take a moment and ask yourself this question. As much effort  that you put into social media acceptance, why not put that same energy into a relationship with God?

Our Heavenly Father accepts you just the way you are. No need to worry about if you have enough followers or friends with Him. He's the ultimate friend and follower. You are his favorite in any social circle. Still not convinced? I thought so. If you won't take my word for it, ask him yourself in prayer. You achieve all sorts of "likes" when you speak to Him verses social media. Vent to God about your troubles and frustrations. Doing so with him won't cost you your job or discipline action from an employer. In fact you will not only get a listener, you will get a resolution as well.

Social media acceptance with the world...not important. Seeking acceptance through our Heavenly Father, the ultimate and only acceptance that you need.

You weren't expecting that...
